How dark can I expect to get?

Everyone is different and the depth of your tan will depend on a lot of things, like the UV index, how close you are to water, altitude and your genetic predisposition to produce melanin. If you have naturally medium/olive skin tones, you can expect the most dramatic results. More on the fair/ or ivory skin side? Expect a natural golden glow.

Does this contain fake tan?

No way. Fake tan stinks and it stains and we don’t include it in any of our formulas.

Do I have to go in the sun for this to work?

You sure do. UV exposure is what activates the melanin-boosting technology.

How long does it take to see results?

Again, everyone is different, but if you use Base Tan daily (for a minimum of 5 days prior to your time in the sun!), you should see results in as little as half an hour.

What does it smell like?

Coconut, peaches, vanilla... heaven, basically. Base Tan uses our signature Tropical Nectar fragrance.

Seaberry Seed Oil

This healing herbal antioxidant not only sounds magical but is a total powerhouse when it comes to protecting your skin against UV damage. Using sea buckthorn berry seeds supports the formation of cell tissue, meaning this oil can work wonders on wounds. Its antimicrobial activity also has soothing, calming effects on your skin.

Açaí Oil

This highly active oil is amazing when it comes to soothing inflammation and quenching very dry skin. To maximize your skin’s natural tanning ability, apply Base Tan daily for a minimum of 5-7 days before prolonged sun exposure. This ensures your skin is fully-loaded with all the nutrients it needs to both protect itself and optimize its tanning potential. 

 

Live in a sun-filled spot? 

Apply Base Tan daily to support your skin’s natural protective functions, load it up with antioxidants and hydration, and keep your body’s bronzing ability at full boost. 

 

Live in a cold or sun-starved region? 

Take advantage of what little sun you do have! Apply Base Tan in the days leading up to and during (less-intense) sun exposure to achieve your body’s best glow.

 

We ALWAYS suggest using a broad-spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF 20 (such as Smart Screen) if you intend to expose yourself to the sun. Using BaseTan alone does not provide adequate protection from sunburns, especially during extended sunbathing.
