Why doesn’t it get really foamy?
The most common foaming agents in body washes are sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) and sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), both of which can have a drying effect and diminish your skin’s ability to retain moisture. We opted for a low-foam formula that still gives you a great clean feeling, without stripping your skin of precious moisture. Remember: just because it’s low on foam doesn’t mean it doesn’t clean!
But how does an oil clean your skin?
While oils are known for their moisturizing properties, they’re also solvents — they can dissolve similar substances. The fact they’re lipophilic means they’re naturally attracted to other oils… like the sweat, dirt and grime that can build up on our skin. The surfactant in this formula allows the oils (and what they’ve dissolved) to combine with water and be easily rinsed off. And the best part? You’re not only cleansing your skin, you’re softening and hydrating at the same time.

Typical body washes are water-based formulations that cleanse using harsh surfactants (SLS or SLES). And while they cleanse dirt and oil, they can also carry away valuable hydration and weaken your skin's moisture barrier, leaving it feeling tight and dry.
Oil cleansers like this one work because oils are also solvents. Solvents bind to similar substances — in this case, the oil, sweat and grime that builds up on our bodies. The gentle surfactant in this formula (Polyglyceryl-3 Caprate) allows the oils (and what they’ve dissolved) to combine with water and be easily rinsed off. All this happens with a completely water-free formulation which helps to preserve and protect your skin's natural moisture barrier.

Algae Extract
An all-natural, multifunctional skin treatment active based on Alaria esculenta (algae) extract. It helps protect the skin’s firmness and elasticity while boosting the synthesis of collagen and hyaluronic acid. The skin is plumped, looks firmer and smoother.
Monoi Oil
Monoi (Tahitian for “scented oil”) is more than a deeply nourishing moisturizer. The tiare flower used to make monoi contains high levels of methyl salicylate and lauric acid, known for their soothing and anti-inflammatory properties (think: after-sun). The coconut oil base of monoi is an incredible superfood packed with protective antioxidants like Vitamin E and ferulic acid. The antibacterial effects of coconut oil combined with the protective nature of tiare flower can keep your skin clear and blemish-free.
Sweet Almond Oil
Almond oil is the ultimate in skin nourishment. It’s revitalizing, moisturizing, conditioning and helps to heal injured and chapped skin.
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (Coconut Oil)
Derived from coconut oil and plant-based glycerin, this scientific treat is an excellent emollient and skin-replenishing ingredient. It’s included in cosmetics due to its mix of replenishing fatty acids that help skin to retain moisture.
